The Independent Comprehensive Joints Agreement (ICAA) between the North Carolina Community College (NCCCS) system and the Independent Colleges and Universities of North Carolina (NCICU) signaling institutions is intended to allow for a smooth transfer for Community College students who wish to continue their training at an NCICU Signatory institution. The ultimate goal of this agreement is the seamless articulation of Community College to the NCICU institution with minimal loss of credit or repetition of work. This articulation agreement builds on the 1999 and 2005 articulation agreements. This agreement recognizes the transition from high school to teaching and evaluation of CTE courses with Bloom`s Taxonomy for Learning, Teaching and Assessing. The North Carolina Comprehensive Liaison Agreement (CAA) is a national credit transfer agreement between NC Community Colleges and NC Public Universities and aims to move students smoothly. The CAA gives certain assurances to the student passing on; for example: The best choice for a fluid articulation with the university is an associate in the arts or associate in Science Degree. Applied Sciences or General Education Diplomas have different blends of general education courses, choices and main courses, which are less easy to articulate with higher education institutions. Students who graduate from applied science and general culture, but that is not the intent of these programs. Again, the joint is not as smooth as with AA and AS degrees. During the curriculum review period, when field tests and revised curriculum guides are implemented, there are no national scores for national postasses exams. To grant articulation credits, LEAs must do the following.
